  11.     I just acquired a TVI965 terminal to replace my ancient HP2621a. I can
  12. successfully dial in to our departmental modem pool using a Digicom Scout+
  13. (V.32bis external, DSP based) but the modem never displays anything on the
  14. terminal while in command mode - that is, after establishing a connection it
  15. will print a CONNECT message, everything works fine while in data mode, but
  16. I can't examine the modem state. I do get responses printed in command mode
  17. while the modem is connected to the HP.

  19.     I'm guessing that this is related to hardware flow control in some
  20. fashion, and have tried fiddling with both the terminal hardware/software
  21. flow control options and the modem &B and &D commands, but nothing I do
  22. improves things. In fact, the only observable change I've produced is by
  23. changing terminal transmit flow control from XON/XOFF to DTR (at which point
  24. the terminal no longer seems to be talking to the modem) and from DTR to
  25. NONE (at which point the modem decides to turn on the speaker and the
  26. terminal starts communicating once more).
